Fitzroy Readers is a Phonics based reading Program developed over the last three decades in Australia. The Fitzroy Readers introduce new spelling patterns with each story so that children are able to decode the words for themselves. A box set of ten phonic readers, at grade four/five level or equivalent. Fitzroy Readers 41-50 is the eighth set in the series. The readers in this upper-primary pack offer longer and more complex stories. Each reader in 41-50 introduces up to three new sounds (digraphs), such as wr, tion and ous, and up to ten special words (sight words), including scene, autumn and sword. Students who can comfortably read this set are usually able to enjoy a wide range of chapter books. We recommend using the matching Word Skills workbook with each pack of the Fitzroy Readers to provide a full literacy program.
